MEDIA keeps as little about you as it needs to sync your screens. It does not sell data, show ads or track you across sites.

This website
This website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts and loads nothing from other sites. The web server keeps standard access logs (address, time, page and browser) for security and troubleshooting, for a short time.
Your MEDIA account
When you have an account, the MEDIA server stores:
- your email address and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself);
- your two-step verification secret, if you turn it on;
- your profiles, with their names, settings, watch progress, Watchlist and Library;
- the addons installed on each profile, by their URL;
- your signed-in sessions and paired devices, so you can see and end them.
This is used only to run your account and keep your apps in sync. Account emails are sent only for security events such as a password reset or a new device.
The apps
The Windows and Android TV apps talk to the addons you install, to the MEDIA server for sync, and to the sources they play. Addons are run by third parties and have their own privacy practices; MEDIA does not control what they log.
Removing your data
You can delete a profile, end sessions and remove devices in the account area.
Deleting your account: in the Windows app, open Settings › Account › Delete account and enter your password. The app deletes your account on the MEDIA server and on the computer in one go, with its profiles, progress, lists, addons, downloads, TVs and the copies in the app's own backups. If the server can't be reached, nothing is deleted; you can try again, or choose to delete only the computer's copy. You can also delete the account in the account area in a browser. The TV app can't delete an account; Settings › Account › Delete your account there says where to do it.
Removing the apps: uninstalling MEDIA on Windows (Settings › Apps) asks whether to delete its data on that computer too; the answer is No unless you choose Yes. On Android TV, logging out removes the TV from your account, and uninstalling the app removes everything it kept on the TV.
